Elegant platinum ring with morganite & diamonds from our workshop. Morganite, also known as rose beryl or pink emerald, was discovered in Madagascar in 1910. The chief gemologist of the Tiffany & Co jewelry store, George Kunz, named the new gemstone after the New York banker and gemstone collector John Pierpont Morgan in honor of his philanthropic commitment: in fact, Pierpont Morgen bequeathed his extensive collection of precious gemstones to the Museum of Modern just three years later History in New York. The morganite quickly became a true fashion stone, because its pale pink color went wonderfully with the fashion of the early 20th century.
Whether it was the light blue of the aquamarine, the fresh green of the peridot or the pink of the fragrant rose petals of the morganite, the jewelry of this time sparkled with preference in the delicate colors of fine gemstones. This ring from our workshop is reminiscent of the Art Déco era, the style that flourished in New York and Paris. Embedded in fine platinum and accompanied by a total of twelve diamonds, the natural morganite sparkles brightly and clearly in its center. We cast it in platinum using the old technique and had it refined by hand. The result is a modern ring, which, with its delicate shapes and high-quality workmanship, is in the best tradition of European jewelry art.7.0 x 9.0 mm. Hofer antique jewelry in Berlin. Hofer antique jewelry arose from the joy of beautiful things.
It all started with my grandma, who was a lady who liked to adorn herself. She could tell something about each of her pieces of jewelery and when she opened her jewelery box, a world opened up: fond memories and touching stories connected with the pieces marked the highlights of a lived life. Based on these experiences, over the years a passion grew in me to deal with these small and always very personal objects. Our range has grown steadily over the past few years.
